NB: Based on Wado Ryu
The outer block can be performed from any stance. The idea is to use your outer forearm to strongly block and deflect an incoming attack with a sweeping across motion that deflects the attack away from the body or head. The effectiveness of the block comes from the speed and twist of the defence.
How To:
1. In any stance here we show stepping from ready to long stance
2. The blocking arm is dropped to the opposite waist.(imagine pulling a sword)
3. & 4. The arm is pulled up and swept across the body towards the blocking arm side, twisting the outwards so the forearm twist helps deflect the attack.
5. The wrist and hand should be clenched and in line with the forearm and end up to the outside of the body.
