Dojo Respect

This refers to bowing to the Dojo and /or instructor or other students, in your case at home, it is good to follow for the tradition of karate and etiquette. You will be showing a mark of respect to the instructors you follow and we recommend supporting them by subscribing to their channels.

If you join a Dojo locally then you will always adhere to respect.

Warm Up: Always warm up first
The warm up session is an essential part of learning karate. The purpose is to get blood pumping into your muscles. Warm up exercises also get your body ready for stretching and practicing karate techniques. Take note, however, that you shouldn’t turn your warm up session into full training. Once you feel your body is already warm, proceed to Strength Training exercises, which are considered part of your warm-up session as well.

Stretch: Always stretch gently
Doing some stretching should follow your warm-up session. Remember to not overdo your stretching exercises. Do them gently and progressively over time. Do not bounce or over stretch. Performing some yoga exercises is recommended when learning karate.

Fitness & Strength: This is optional but will help improve fitness and strength
There are strength training exercises that you can do, but only after you have finished warming up and stretching. Do these exercises progressively.
